Green Bay Packers' 2007 "Unofficial" Salary Cap
Tuesday, January 9: bold/green 2007 cap = higher than JSO; bold/red 2007 cap = lower than JSO; 'rule-of 51' I don't know why JSO was 97.5k higher Colledge. My records indicate his base(360k) and PRSB(325k) are accurate according to previous media reporting. The 360k was from NFLPA as of this writing (but is always subject to change). I'm not counting it at this time because I more than cover the discrepancy with Woodson and Driver's cap numbers. Woodson's additional 895.5k accounts for his potential game-day playing incentives (56k/gm active). Woodson played in every game during 2006, and if I read the CBA correctly, it infers number of game days played/achieved in the previous season automatically applies to following season for LTBE purposes. Regarding Driver's additional ~$250k, my records (of previous media writing) indicate the amount is a roster bonus; he's also supposed to receive a $56,720 workout bonus.
I'm -262,287 with Nick Barnett and have NFI why. I'm leaning towards applying it in the next update...and chalk it up to some misc. LTBE. Scott Well's additional $100k is the exact amount of his PRSB...makes me wonder if JSO forgot about the PRSB... Marquand Manuel, -40,000 could be a workout bonus; I'll probably apply the amount in the next update.
William Henderson (-100k) could be gone and won't matter. I think it will be cost effective to get rid of Robert Ferguson. Some people possibly think they can save on Bubba's base too. Bubba's dead space would be:...$3m over these next two years...a minimum of $1m in 2007.
The Packers probably used the 'carry-forward' loophole to the tune of~ $2.5m into 2007 depending on various circumstances. However, I won't use that amount until Adam JT13 provides his 'Annual Cap Adjustments listing'.
Haven't applied RFA tenders estimates/amounts yet. An 'FYI'...Charles Woodson's 2006 cap value of $6,709,330 will be used to calculate the value for 2007 franchise/transition CBs. CW's 2007 cap number is significantly lower. Can KGB get ~13 or more sacks in 2007 to be worth close to that cap amount?...why not?...I say they keep him.
